Personal Summary

As a User Experience Designer and Researcher, Mr. Payne’s passion lies in the identification, diagnosis, and prescription of improvements for the end user experience. He accomplishes this through a variety of research techniques, analytical approaches, and by employing human centered design principles. John has spent the past 11 years helping Federal and public-sector clients to improve their program management and business processes and to reduce risk and realize cost savings through stringent user testing and training, visual design. Mr. Payne has supported agencies within the DoD, large public and private corporations, planning service organizations, as well as the Department of Veterans Affairs.

During his career, John has experience conducting user process identification in a wide variety of environments, platforms, and subject areas; developing user testing and training protocols; creating multi-billion-dollar project deployment and management plans; managing and training small teams of researchers; leading requirements management with large teams of configuration analysts; creating, leading, and analyzing research initiatives; authoring and delivering contract documentation; optimizing resource allocation; conducting statistical analysis on small to large scale user research projects; and training and interviewing procedures for mobile and desktop user experiences. Mr. Payne’s advanced education and training allow fluid application of methods and techniques from across business disciplines to identify and recommend the most effective user experience, project and program management direction, and business process improvements.

Mr. Payne is extremely detail oriented and has an appreciation for creating beautiful, simple and enjoyable user experiences in all areas of application; web, mobile web, or native application, it's all important.  Fueled by his desire to find the root-cause of a site or app's usability issues, he is always striving to find creative and unique methods to solve for both simple and extremely complex or niche issues.
